Christina Aguilera: 'I grew up on Burlesque set'

Christina Aguilera has said that she grew up considerably on the set of Burlesque.

The singer and actress confessed that while she was disappointed in the film's lack of success, she is still happy that she took part in the project as it was an overall positive experience and had a profound effect on her personal life.

"I was sad [it wasn't a huge success], but I'm still glad that I did the movie. During production, I was going through a lot of self-discovery. As a quote-unquote popstar, you have your entourage with you at all times. When you enter and leave a place, backstage, even at home - you always have your team," Aguilera explained to W Magazine.

"On the movie set, I didn't have anyone around me. And it felt good. When I first met my husband, I needed that helping hand to take the reins and look after me. After the movie, I grew out of being that little girl; I became more of an adult."

Aguilera is currently serving as a judge and mentor on the NBC singing competition The Voice alongside Cee Lo Green, Blake Shelton and Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine.

She and Green recently released a duet entitled 'Nasty', a track which was recorded before the stars joined The Voice.

Warner Bros to offer on-demand movies in China

(Reuters) - Warner Bros Entertainment will distribute on-demand movies in China starting this summer, through an agreement with China's YOU On Demand Holdings Inc , Warner Bros said in a statement on Wednesday.

Warner Bros, a unit of Time Warner Inc , will be the first studio to offer films in China via this method and will have the potential to reach 200 million cable households through YOU On Demand's pay-per-view and video-on-demand platform.

Warner Bros, which distributes the popular Harry Potter movie franchise, could be available to as many as 3 million households by the end of the summer.

"China is developing methods for consumers to view movies outside the cinema in a legitimate fashion," said Jim Wuthrich, president of Warner Bros' International Home Video and Digital Distribution.

Foreign movies are available in cinemas through a quota system that limits the number of foreign movies screened in China each year. Otherwise, foreign movies are widely accessible to the public on pirated DVDs that can be bought on the black market for less than a dollar.

The problem of rampant piracy has robbed Hollywood studios and music production companies of millions in profit in the world's most populous country.

Strict media controls also disallow foreign studios from having their own channels, forcing some media companies such as Walt Disney Co to concoct creative methods, such as teaching English to children, to reach the populace.

"I'm excited for the millions of Chinese consumers that will be able to experience and enjoy the very best content that Hollywood has to offer through the YOU On Demand platform," said YOU On Demand Chief Executive Shane McMahon.

Hugh Hefner & Crystal Harris's Wedding Is Called Off

They rang in the holidays with news of their engagement, but there will be no wedding bells after all for Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris.

The playmate, 25, called off the nuptials on Tuesday, just days before they were to tie the knot Saturday at the Playboy Mansion.

"The wedding is off," Hefner Tweeted. "Crystal has had a change of heart."

"After much deep reflection and thought I have decided to end my engagement with Hef," Harris wrote on her website. "I have the utmost respect for Hef and wish him the best going forward. I hope the media will give each of us the privacy we deserve during this time."

More than 300 people had been invited – via Papeterie custom-made invitations – to their big day, which called for a pink Romona Keveza gown and Torrance Bakery strawberry cake.

This would have been the third marriage for Hefner, 85, who filed for divorce in 2009 from his second wife, former playmate Kimberly Conrad. He was previously married to Mildred Williams, whom he divorced in 1959.

"I heard the sad news today this morning," Harris's manager Michael Blakey tells PEOPLE. "The split was a mutual decision and the two remain good friends."

Jennifer Aniston ditches bra, poses pantless in Marie Claire shoot with 'Horrible Bosses' co-stars

As it turns out, Jennifer Aniston's stint as a terrible, unhappy waitress in the cult classic "Office Space" was pretty authentic.

"I waited a lot of tables, and I wasn't very good at that," she reveals in the July issue of Marie Claire. "I dropped more than one Alpine burger in customers' laps, and you just do not want all of that Swiss cheese and mushrooms in your pants."

Aniston, 42, said she spent her first paycheck on a vintage Mercedes before ditching New York and moving to Los Angeles to seriously pursue her acting career.

"I started getting pilots and working pretty regularly," she recalled. "I still didn't make any decent money until I got on 'Friends.' "

Charlie Day, the object of Aniston's affection in the upcoming film "Horrible Bosses," had a similarly humbling beginning.

He told the magazine his first job was "as a janitor for a health club in Rhode Island."

"Arnold Schwarzenegger worked out there while he was filming 'True Lies,' " the 35-year-old revealed. "So the owner had these giant posters of him all over the gym, which I'd have to clean. I essentially polished his abs for a living."

Aniston and Day's co-star, Jason Bateman, denied ever having a horrible boss like he does in their movie – mostly because he usually doesn't "even know who" his boss is.

"When you're making a movie, you don't always have the same boss when you finish as you did when you started," he explained. "Studio heads, directors – they're shifting around all the time, fired and hired."

"And at the end of every project, as an actor, you're effectively fired," the actor, 42, continued. "So you're out there looking for work again like everybody else."

It seems likely, though, that Bateman's search will lead him back to Aniston. This is the third flick they've worked together on after "The Break-Up" and "The Switch." Guess it wasn't too "horrible"!

Jennifer Lopez 'On the Fence' About Returning to 'American Idol'

First-year American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez says she's "on the fence" about returning to Fox's competition series for a second season.

The singer told BBC Radio 1's Scott Mills, "I don't know. I haven't been forced to make a decision and I'm glad about that because honestly I'm very on the fence about it."
